Charles Reafsnyder is Executive Associate Dean in the Indiana University (IU) Office of International Programs—a system-wide office that serves eight campuses in the state. Charles also serves as Director of the Center for International Education and Development Assistance (CIEDA) at IU. Formerly, he directed the ITM/MUCIA Cooperative Program, a 10-year international higher education program for 4,500 Malaysian undergraduate students funded by the Government of Malaysia. In his current capacity, Charles is responsible for externally-funded training and development programs with the US Agency for International Development, the US Department of State, the World Bank, foreign Ministries of Education, and several multinational companies. Charles is also a member of the IU President’s Council of International Programs, and serves on the Boards of the Endowment for the American University of Central Asia, the Inner Asian and Uralic National Resource Center and the Bloomington Developmental Learning Center. Charles graduated BA, magna cum laude and with “Honors,” from IU-Bloomington. After serving a three-year stint in the Peace Corps in the Federated States of Micronesia he returned to IU where he earned a Ph.D in Socio-Cultural Anthropology.
