Tania Vitvitsky joined Sabre Foundation in 1990 as Project Officer. As Project Director (1991 - 2000), she was responsible for developing book and journal donation programs throughout the former Soviet Union, the Balkans and Mongolia. As Executive Director, she is overseeing the expansion of programs in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Vitvitsky also initiated Sabre's Information Technology Workshops, a customized, "hands-on" computer and Internet training program for professionals, scholars and students from developing/transitional countries.

With a BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art (now, The University of the Arts), Vitvitsky brings to Sabre Foundation experience in community and program development, state government service, community relations and business. Board and volunteer activities have included: Sabre-Svitlo Foundation, (board member), Lviv, Ukraine; Ukrainian National Women's League of America (member); Friends of the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute (former Chairperson); and the Jewish/Ukrainian Dialogue Group, Boston, (former member).
