The Translation and Publication Program

Distribution of Sabre-Svitlošs Ukrainian-language translations in their five-volume "Library of Small Business" series was advanced in several ways. Although retail bookshop marketing in Ukraine was hampered by tax considerations, the books were made available for bulk purchase to a number of business schools; the series was reviewed and advertised in Ocbita, a Kyiv-based magazine covering education; press coverage in the U.S.-based Ukrainian Weekly facilitated purchases abroad for donation within Ukraine; and Yevshan, a Canadian-based firm marketing Ukrainian-related products by mail, included the series in their 1997 catalog, for delivery either within Ukraine or abroad. The William H. Donner Foundation funded costs of rights, translations and printing, as they had done for a similar Sabre project in Poland.
