General Description: | Brother to Brother International (BBI) acts as an intermediary to match requests for donations to offers of surplus material from US organizations. A computer database is employed to put recipients and donors in touch with each other. BBI does not normally get involved in the warehousing and transportation. A wide range of surplus goods are matched with recipients' requests and include pharmaceuticals, clothes and blankets.
Project Description: | One of BBI's activities is the Arizona Book Bank which arranges for the surplus textbooks from Arizona schools to be distributed overseas. Over one million textbooks have been distributed particularly with a view to helping literacy efforts. Materials offered: used books.
