General Description:

World Vision, Inc. is a partnership with 13 support offices and 42 field offices (see "Overseas Offices above), each employing their own staff. World Vision Relief & Development is an affiliated organization carrying out a variety of activities including overseas distribution of donated books which are ancillary to its overall program. WVRD receives Gifts in Kind (GIK) donations of an average annual value of $25 million, with book donations averaging $2 million annually. These books are utilized in educational programs for children through adults in Africa and Latin America.

Kinds of Books Distributed: Textbooks: elementary level mathematics, science, and reading; college level - social sciences, sciences, and technical. Content Selection Policy: WVRD does its best to provide overseas recipient groups with lists of available books but cannot be responsible for complete information on book content. It is the recipients' decision, if they are interested in books from the WVRD and understand that WVRD is not responsible for providing complete content information.
